Everything you need to know about installing, playing, and mastering Target Math.
Installation & Setup
Once you download the Target Math APK from our website, open your Android device's file manager and tap on the downloaded file. Your phone may ask for permission to 'Install from Unknown Sources'—allow this for your browser or file manager, and the installation will proceed.
Ensure you have at least 50MB of free storage space. If you previously installed a different or modified version of Target Math, you must fully uninstall it before installing the new APK.
Currently, Target Math is optimized exclusively for Android devices (Android 8.0 and above). We heavily utilize native Android UI components for extreme performance, but an iOS version is on our development roadmap.
As an indie development studio, we are offering the initial release directly to our early adopters via sideloading to rapidly iterate on feedback without store review delays. A Play Store launch is coming shortly.
Gameplay Mechanics
Target Math uses dynamic procedural generation. Choosing 'Hard' will instantly introduce larger numbers, complex operations (like nested roots), and extremely tight time constraints. It is not recommended for beginners.
You will be presented with a scenario where multiple entities work at different rates. You must rapidly deduce the combined or remaining time using inverse proportional logic. Select the correct numeric output from the grid before the timer expires.
The global timer turns red and begins pulsing when you have less than 5 seconds remaining on the current problem. At this point, the haptic feedback engine will also start a heartbeat vibration to simulate test pressure.
Yes. Skipping a question instantly breaks your current combo streak, but it does not deduct 5 points like submitting a wrong answer would. Use skips strategically.
Avatars are tied to your overall XP level. As you successfully answer questions, your XP bar fills up. Reaching milestones (e.g., Level 10, Level 25) will automatically unlock new visual avatars in the Profile tab.
Data & Privacy
Because Target Math is strictly 'Offline-First', we do not sync your data to our servers. To back up your data, you must use your Android device's built-in backup system (e.g., Google One Backup) which backs up app data.
Absolutely not. Target Math does not request, access, or track your GPS or location data at any point. Your privacy is paramount.
Yes. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Clear Data. Be warned: This will instantly and permanently wipe all your XP, badges, and streaks. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
Ensure your device is running Android 8.0 or higher. If the issue persists, go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Target Math > Storage, and tap 'Clear Cache'. Do not tap 'Clear Data' unless you want to wipe your progress.
